Landed in Beaver Creek a few days ago... drove through deer alley and much to my suprise, no dear (the road from Park City to Beaver Creek is affectionately known as deer alley!).
Snowed last night, so training today got called off. Training yesterday was good. Solid performances by the US team, easing into it. The wind was so bad nobody could see at the top of the course. Radios weren't working. But they soldiered on and sent the kids out of the gate. they were coming into the finish area with dinner plate eyes... now, I get dinner plate eyes just looking up there, for them to get those eyes, it must have been scary!
With training cancelled today, I sat in my room and edited by PhD thesis for the 1 millionth time. I think I am finished, despite declaring it finished then picking it up again and finding stuff that needed to changed. So, I am gonna bind it next week and send it off... phew. best christmas present I could have hoped for to get that out of my life.
So, race day tomorrow. Seems like Bode is in typical form, winning with confidence.
Stay tuned....
